5 Ways To Be More Independent!

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma; which is living with the results of other people's thinking.."

We sometimes rely on others much more than it is required. Sometimes people fear of being independent for a variety of reasons; fear of being alone, fear of being on their own, and fear of the future allowing themselves to 'settle' where they are. As we grow older, we need to learn how to make decisions that help us live our lives the way we want to. Here are 5 simple ways to become an independent person.

1. Never forget about 'You'; Put yourself first

Always remember who you are; in terms of your hobbies, things you like, dislike, especially the things that make you 'You'. The more easily you can meet your emotional needs, you will understand yourself better and be able to express yourself.

2. You just need to Get Away!

It is wonderful to be together, but round the clock bonding can create dependence. Sometimes a short trip with family or friends will help with perspective and will make you will refreshed when you get back.

3. Become more Self Reliant

You need to be sure you have other things in your life apart from the romantic relationship. It could be a fitness routine, work , family, community, work or friends.

4. Friends

Sometimes you just need your friends to vent with or laugh with. One of the best ways is to arrange a night once or twice in a month or have a 'pajama party' (no kidding) to have a casual and a fun get away.

5. Stop over thinking about what other people think!

I think this is the most important thing about being independent. You need to know what 'you' like, it could be anything from your outfit , to music, or anything else for that matter. As long as you like it, nothing else matters. Stop worrying about the judgments people make about your life; whether they are thinking about your choice of career, clothes, or choice of your significant other. Always remember these are your decisions and not anyone else's.

These are few tips to be more self reliant and be happy in your own skin.
